Some hold that the idea of attending classes for those who become new mothers and fathers are worthwhile and valuable. Others, however, hold a different position and emphasize the intuitive and instinctive nature of parenting and consider the mentioned classes as worthless and sometimes disturbing. I agree with the latter group
Those in favor of the idea of having courses for these parents state that parenting, especially in the modern times, is a skill to be acquired to cater for all the needs of the new borns. As an illustration, if mothers are truly keen on providing their child with nutritious food from the first days, then they must have a good grasp of science of nutrition, which cannot be possible without attending courses taught by a specialist. They also cite the number of incidents involving infant casualties and serious illnesses reported daily by various websites, plenty of which may be prevented by getting the right education
Others, on the other hand, opine that God or mother nature has equipped us with necessary knowledge to protect our offsprings. Attending classes, therefore, would be useless and a waste of time. This group of people, me included, mention the thousands of years of human history and the glorious upbringing of the infants and new borns which automatically resulted in generations of physically and mentally healthy individuals. They are of the opinion that these academic courses would not only be utterly useless but also an intervention in the process of human evolution and thus harmful
All in all, considering the factors and the statements above, I shall, again, take side with those who focus on the nature and the God-given abilities of our mothers and fathers to rear us and believe that this is all we need and not some out-of-the-context classes and pamphlets
